Bosch Smart System: 30 or 45 km/h?
With the Smart System upgrade you choose one of two levels during activation. Which one fits mainly depends on your display and on whether your bike has ABS.
Level 1: 30 km/h
The display shows your actual speed correctly, without a split display. The shop describes it as a moderate upgrade suitable for everyday riding.
Level 2: 45 km/h
Maximum assistance up to 45 km/h. The display is split: 20 km/h on the display equals 40 km/h in reality. Intended for experienced riders.
With ABS only level 1
If your Smart System bike has integrated ABS, only level 1 can be used for technical reasons (up to approx. 32 km/h). Level 2 is not compatible with ABS.
What you need
- a USB-C data cable
- a Windows PC/laptop or an Android smartphone
- Chrome or Edge
According to the shop, activation takes approx. 5 minutes. Enter the license code with its hyphens; without them it is not recognised.
Bike still stops at 25 km/h?
If the web tool already shows the higher speed but the bike stays at 25 km/h, a limited riding profile is usually still active in the eBike Flow app, says the shop. Open the app, choose the riding mode or profile, adjust the maximum speed and save.
Compatible displays
Kiox 300, Kiox 400C, Kiox 500, Purion 200, Intuvia 100, System Controller and LED and Mini Remote. If you have an older Bosch system without the Flow app, the Gen 1–4 upgrade is the right one.
